The top 20 safest cities in the world have been ranked by The Economist Intelligence Unit, and much to our pleasent surprise - two of Australia's states managed to score spots on the list!
The cities were ranked on the following areas:
- Digital Security
- Health Security
- Infastructure
- Personal Safety
The number one spot was awarded to Tokyo, followed closely by Singapore.
Australia's Sydney came in at number 6, ranking high with infastructure security and personal safety, however fell short in digital security and health security, only being ranked 14th and 17th.
Melbourne comes in at number 9, once again ranking high in infastructure and personal safety, also noting that Melbourne has the worlds highest life expectancies for any city in the world!
Unfortunately, no where else in Australia managed to top the list - but a great result to score two cities in a world ranking.
