Moving to the NBN

Moving to the NBN

If you’re not yet aware, the NBN is fast sweeping the Gold Coast and Brisbane region. Although this means fast internet, it also means interruptions to your alarm system. To combat these disruptions, install a 4G Multicom, which works in conjunction with your existing alarm to keep you online.

NBN is new technology released from the government that provides a high-speed broadband network. The install of this NBN is slowly being rolled out to different areas, with completion expected in 2020. This means that by this date, all properties will have the new connection and adjust their connectivity accordingly.

Staying Connected

In order to ensure that your alarm system continues to function once the NBN comes into effect in your area, you will need to install a 4G Multicom Plus.

4G Multicom Plus Digital Dialler

The Multicom 4 Plus Digital Dialler is an alarm communicator that breathes new lives into your existing alarm system. The Multicom Dialler enables delivery of your alarm messages across three transmission paths, including GPRS & GSM, improving the integrity of your alarm’s communication back to base.

The Multicom not only delivers alarm messages more securely and across more paths, but it also enables your monitoring station to check the connection as frequently as every four seconds. This process, known as polling, ensures that your alarm is always working and connected. If your alarm system fails or has been tampered with in some way, your monitoring centre will know about it almost immediately.

Benefits of the Device

As well as remaining connected once the NBN comes into effect, the use of the Multicom rids the need for analogue phone lines and associated dialling charges. It improves the integrity of your alarm communication, reduces the operating costs of your alarm over time and attaches to the exiting alarm panel.

Don’t risk getting disconnected and leaving your property unprotected, contact our alarm technicians today on 07 5549 2911 to enquire about the installation of a 4G Multicom system.
